DETAILS: On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 7:48am, officers were called to Motel 6 at 2032 Paramount on a weapons call. When officers arrived, they learned that a shot had been fired into a hotel room from an adjoining room. Officers learned there was at least one person in the room and began attempting to make contact. Violent Crimes detectives obtained a warrant for Deadly Conduct. Swat and negotiators were able to make contact, and the male eventually exited the room. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Amarillo police are on the scene at the Motel 6 at 2032 Paramount Blvd. SWAT and negotiators are working with a barricaded subject, possibly armed. We are asking everyone to avoid the area. We will provide updates when the event has been cleared. We appreciate the community cooperation in this ongoing situation.
