Wilmington Police have arrested a juvenile male in connection to a July shooting incident following an investigation.
On July 12th at approximately 8:04 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1600 block of West 4th Street in reference to a shooting incident. Officers located a 17-year-old male juvenile gunshot victim, who arrived at the hospital in critical condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Johnnie Everett of the Criminal Investigations Division. During the course of his investigation Detective Everett identified a 15-year-old juvenile male as the suspect involved in the shooting and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On August 8th, officers located the 15-year-old male juvenile in the 1100 block of West 2nd Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The 15-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $126,000 cash-only bail.
