.Significant rainfall has fallen over the last 24 hours with radar
estimated totals of 4 to 10 inches with a major portion of that
falling this afternoon. Of note, 3hr annual return intervals have
been up to 200 years or more across the warned area this afternoon.
While the heavy rainfall has subsided, it is likely that low water
crossings, fields, and small streams will remain flooded through the
remainder of the afternoon.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EDT /430 PM CDT/ THIS
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northern Indiana, including the following
counties, Cass IN, Fulton IN, Grant, La Porte, Marshall, Miami,
Pulaski, Starke, Wabash and White.
* WHEN...Until 530 PM EDT /430 PM CDT/.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 217 PM EDT /117 PM CDT/, emergency management reported
heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 6
inches or more of rain have fallen this afternoon.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.

Logansport, Peru, Rochester, Winamac, Grissom Afb, North
Judson, Walton, Bunker Hill, Francesville, La Fontaine, Royal
Center, Medaryville, Mexico, Lincoln, Wells, Pulaski, Miami,
Converse, Ripley and Kewanna.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
