INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm
PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Unlawful Ammunition
PC 148(A)(1) - Resist/Delay/Obstruct a Police Officer
LOCATION: W Needles Hwy and T Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Mitch Tieman, 39-years-old, Resident of Alturas, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 11:59 p.m., deputies observed a male matching the description of a suspect from a prior call and attempted to make contact with him. The male, identified as Mitch Tieman, immediately fled from deputies. During the foot pursuit, Deputy Goff observed Tieman discard an item. Deputy Goff continued the pursuit and ultimately apprehended Tieman.
Following his arrest, Tieman was found to be in possession of a loaded magazine containing .22 caliber ammunition. Tieman is a convicted felon and is prohibited by law from possessing firearms and ammunition. Deputies immediately conducted a search of the area and located a firearm believed to be discarded by Tieman during the foot pursuit.
Tieman was transported and booked into the Colorado River Station jail on the above mentioned charges. This investigation remains on going.
