Arizona Man Sustains Injuries After He Collides with the California Shoreline in Boating Accident

INCIDENT: Injury Boat Accident/ Boating Under the Influence Investigation
LOCATION: Parker Strip near Bass Point
SUSPECT(S): Christopher Foster, 42-year-old male resident of Mesa, AZ
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On August 9, 2026, at about 12:38 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station's Marine Enforcement Unit responded to an injury boat accident on the Parker Strip near Bass Point. A 23 foot Yamaha boat, being operated by Christopher Foster, was traveling down river just past Emerald Cove Resort at an unkown speed, and collided with the California shoreline. Both Foster and his male passenger were injured during the collision. Foster was flown to a trauma center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the passenger was transported to the La Paz Regional Hospital in Parker, Arizona.
During the investigation, medical records were obtained per a search warant for Foster which confirmed alcohol levels above the legal limit. A report will be sent to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office for review and consideration of charges.
