The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) would like to inform residents of the following closures starting Monday, August 17, 2026:
- The Guy Mason Playground (3600 Calvert Street, NW) will close for resurfacing. Construction is estimated to be completed in fall 2026. This project will replace the existing playground surface with a new pour‑in‑place rubber safety surface and play turf. It will also replace the sandbox with a pour-in-place rubber safety surface.
- The 9th & Illinois Triangle Park (at the intersection of 9th St NW, Illinois Ave NW, and Ingraham St NW) will close for park renovations. Construction is scheduled to be completed in late fall/early winter 2026. More information about the 9th and Illinois project is available here.
