Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive-Up and Go Food Distribution event:
Beginning at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, August 19, 2026
• Bloomfield Ave. between Clifton Ave. and Highland Ave.
• Parker St. between 2nd Ave. and Park Ave.
• Ridge St. between 2nd Ave. and Park Ave.
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Bloomfield Ave. and Parker St.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
