• Grand Theft (Unlocked Vehicle)
  • 3400 block of Sagehurst Drive – On August 3, 2026 at 2:30 AM, the suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole miscellaneous computer products. No arrest made. Surveillance video pending from neighbor. Temple DB to follow up.

 
August 4, 2026

August 5, 2026

• Domestic Violence
  • 1000 block of Oak Avenue – On August 5, 2026 at 10:30 PM, during an argument, the suspect assaulted the victim, causing injury. An arrest was made.

 
August 6, 2026

• Burglary (Residential)
  • 2500 block of Sunnydale Drive – On August 6, 2026 at 4:16 PM, the suspect (family member) broke the garage door and entered the residence. Nothing was taken during the incident. An arrest was made.

 
August 7, 2026

• Grand Theft (Catalytic Converter)
  • 1900 block of Baylor Street – Between 4:30 PM on August 6, 2026 and 2:30 AM on August 7, 2026, the suspect stole the victim’s catalytic converter from their Toyota Tundra. No arrest made. Neighbor has surveillance cameras but was not home during the investigation. Temple DB to follow up.

 
August 8, 2026

• Grand Theft (Catalytic Converter)
  • 2300 block of Bashor Street – Between 11 PM on August 6, 2026 and 9 AM on August 8, 2026, the suspect stole the victim’s catalytic converter from their Toyota Corolla. No arrest made. No surveillance video available. Temple DB to follow up.

 

• Grand Theft (Unlocked Vehicle)
  • 2200 block of Huntington Drive – On August 8, 2026 at 2:27 PM, the suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole miscellaneous items from inside. No arrest made. Surveillance video available. Temple DB to follow up.

 

• Burglary (Vehicle)
  • 3200 block of Brookridge Road – On August 8, 2026 at 4:49 AM, the suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and stole miscellaneous items from inside. No arrest made. Video footage available. Temple DB to follow up.

  Below is a brief perspective from the viewpoint of a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Deputy when they interact with someone who could be going through a mental health crisis. Remember, these methods are not exclusive to trained and seasoned LASD deputies. In reality, you might someday encounter someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.

Prior to a Deputy making contact, they:

• Gather all facts: Prior to responding to a call for service, Deputies do their best to compile all available details from dispatch and related contacts to understand the situation before making an approach.
• Prioritize Safety: Deputies are aware that a mental health crisis call may occasionally intensify. If a deputy believes approaching a person in crisis may pose a safety risk, he/she will wait for a backup unit to respond to the location or for mental health experts to arrive on scene before making contact.

The Deputy’s mindset during the intervention:

• Communicate Effectively: Speak slowly, clearly, and calmly, explaining your actions and intentions.
• De-escalate: Remain calm and try to de-escalate the situation. Avoid arguing. Do not agree or disagree with delusions or hallucinations. Instead, validate the person's feelings.
• Show Respect: Treat the individual with dignity and respect, just as you would anyone else.
• Maintain Personal Space: Keep a safe distance and respect the person's personal space.
• Slow it down! (Be patient): Take their time to avoid creating a noisy or distracting environment that can further agitate the individual.
• Ask Clear Questions: Use closed-choice questions (e.g., "Do you want option A or B?") to help guide the conversation.

The Deputy’s mindset after the Intervention:

• Make Use of Resources: Take advantage of local resources like Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) programs, which are partnerships between law enforcement and mental health services.
• Pursue Professional Assistance: Ensure the individual receives the necessary care, which may include connecting them with mental health services or transporting them to a facility.
• Deputy’s Well-Being: Recognize the mental health impact these interactions can have on officers and make use of available support systems to safeguard your own mental health.
