Wayne County: Level 3 Travel Warning Terminated. Level 2 Travel Watch in Effect Until Further Notice

Local Disaster Emergency Declaration
Terminating Level III Travel Prohibited Flooding Emergency (Travel Warning)
And
Declaration of Level II Essential Travel Permitted Flooding Emergency (Travel Watch)
 
On August 12th, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. the Wayne County Commissioners declared a Level III Travel Prohibited Flooding Emergency to be in effect in Wayne County, the City of Richmond and the Town of Centerville.  This Flooding Emergency was extended at 11:00 AM on August 13th, 2026.  This Flood Emergency Travel Warning emergency declaration has been terminated, as of 6:00 PM on August 13, 2026 and a Level II Travel Watch will be in place until further notice.
 
The chief executive of Wayne County, Indiana does now find that the road conditions and subsequent effects on travel in and through Wayne County roadways have improved to such degree that hazards posed by the operation and parking of motor vehicles on county roadways has been reduced to allow essential travel to persons county roadways.
 
The Level III Travel Prohibited Flooding Emergency is terminated and restrictions on the operation and parking of motor vehicles on Wayne County roadways are no longer in effect.
 
A Level II Travel Watch means only essential travel is permitted on county roads. This declaration does not apply to state or federal highways.
 
Essential travel includes:

  • Travel to and from work or school
  • Travel to obtain necessary medical care
  • Travel to obtain prescription medications
  • Travel to obtain essential food or fuel
  • Travel to obtain safe shelter
  • Travel by emergency vehicles and emergency personnel
