Suspect Attempts to Take Deputies Gun After Crashing Car into a Residence

LOCATION: 11700 block of Hesperia Road, Hesperia

SUSPECT(S): Christopher Harman, 38-year-old resident of Victorville

INVOLVED PARTY:  39-year-old female resident of Hesperia

VICTIM(S): Confidential

 
SUMMARY:
 On August 12, 2026, at 7:22 p.m., Hesperia deputies were dispatched to the 11700 block of Hesperia Road after a vehicle collided into a house. The residents of the home were able to safely exit.

Arriving deputies observed the driver continue accelerating into the home, causing a small fire. The driver, identified as Christopher Harman, and his female passenger were given verbal orders by deputies to exit the vehicle. Both vehicle occupants refused, and deputies attempted to remove them.
 
While deputies were pulling Harman from the vehicle, Harman grabbed one of the deputies' firearms. Deputies subdued Harman and removed the female passenger, who was transported to a hospital for her injuries.

Harman was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on numerous charges.
