SUSPECT(S): Sergio Granados, 40-years-old, Resident of Highland

SUMMARY:
On Monday, August 10, 2026, at about 10:20 a.m., witnesses observed a Hispanic male adult running from a plot of land located in the 25000 block of Redlands Boulevard, in Loma Linda. Shortly after, several bystanders observed the plot of land become engulfed in fire. Several palm trees and vegetation were actively burning, and a building containing several customers and employees began to catch fire.
The Loma Linda Fire Department responded to the scene and contained the fire. With the assistance of an observant witness, video recorded footage from his Tesla vehicle was reviewed and the description and direction of travel for the suspect was obtained. The suspect, identified as Sergio Granados, was quickly located and detained near the incident location.
Central Station deputies, along with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Arson/Bomb Detail, assumed the investigation into the cause of the fire. Based on the investigation, Sergio Granados was arrested for PC 451(b)-FEL: Arson: Inhabited Structure.
