INCIDENT: Barricaded Suspect Arrested
LOCATION: 20000 block of Rimrock Road East, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Juan Espinoza-Palacios, 63-year-old male, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to a residence in the 20000 block of Rimrock Road East regarding a report of a subject illegally discharging firearms.
The suspect, later identified as Juan Espinoza-Palacios, barricaded himself inside the residence, prompting the response of the Specialized Enforcement Division to assist deputies.
After approximately eight hours of negotiations, Espinoza-Palacios exited the residence and was safely detained. Espinoza-Palacios was booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC 246.3(a)- Willfull Discharge of a Firearm and is being held in lieu of $230,000 bail.
