Sheriff Clint Roach reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office (MI) were dispatched to a suspicious situation in the area of McKenzie St and Churchill St. in Cass County’s Volinia Township on August 13, 2026 at 1:50pm.
Detectives and Deputies met with the landowner who found a badly decomposed body in a field. Sheriff Roach requested the assistance of the Michigan State Police Mobile Crime Lab, who responded to the scene. Also assisting at the scene were Detectives of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
