South Brunswick hosted a highly attended 2026 National Night Out at Rowland Park, bringing residents, police officers, and community partners together for an evening of fun, engagement, and community spirit.
Throughout the evening, volunteers served thousands of hot dogs, veggie dogs, bottles of water, ice pops, and bags of popcorn and chips to attendees. Check out the 2026 National Night Out video on the South Brunswick Police Department’s Instagram page, @sobrunswickpd.
Acting Chief James Ryan praised the event, saying, “National Night Out is one of the best opportunities we have each year to strengthen the connection between our officers and the community we serve. Seeing families, neighbors, and officers interacting in such a positive environment helps build trust, create lasting relationships, and reminds us that public safety is a partnership.”
One of the highlights of this year’s event was the launch of the South Brunswick Police Officer Trading Card Community Engagement Initiative. Children visited officers throughout the event in an effort to collect the complete set of officer trading cards, creating opportunities for positive interactions and conversations between officers and members of the community. The initiative encouraged children to meet officers from different divisions while learning more about the department in a fun and engaging way.
