Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Serial Shed Burglar Arrested Following Investigation
On July 21, 2026, at approximately 12:22 AM, Gloucester Township Police responded to the unit block of Vance Avenue in Sicklerville for a report of a suspect actively breaking into a resident’s shed.
As officers arrived in the area, they observed a white Chevrolet Equinox fleeing the scene. Officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop; however, the driver failed to comply and continued to flee.
Officers identified the driver as Darryl Hill, age 60, of the unit block of Dickenson Drive in Sicklerville. Officers responded to Hill’s residence, where they observed him exit the Chevrolet Equinox and flee on foot. Hill was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident. The Chevrolet Equinox was impounded pending an application for a search warrant.
Detectives subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant on the vehicle. During the search, investigators recovered evidence associated with other reported burglaries.
In December 2025, Gloucester Township Police responded to the unit block of Bainbridge Court in Sicklerville for a report of an unknown vehicle parked in a resident’s driveway. During the investigation, officers located outdoor power equipment and bolt cutters staged in a wooded area behind the residence. Officers also discovered that a shed belonging to the original caller had been forcibly pried open.
Further investigation determined that the outdoor power equipment located in the wooded area belonged to another resident on the unit block of Bainbridge Court. The equipment had been removed from a shed located in that resident’s backyard and was subsequently returned to its owner.
As a result of the investigation, Darryl Hill was charged with three counts of Burglary, two counts of Theft, and one count each of Eluding, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief.
Hill was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.
