NOTICE: Report storm damage to assist IDHS and FEMA in unlocking and allocating resources.
211 is essential for each citizen to report storm damage to assist IDHS and FEMA in unlocking and allocating resources.
We are asking ALL East Chicago residents who experienced storm-related damage to report it by calling 211.
Reporting your damage is essential. These reports help the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) and FEMA document the full impact of the storm and determine the resources and assistance our community may be eligible to receive.
Even if you have already reported damage to the City, your insurance company, or another agency, please make sure you report it through 211 as well.
CALL 211 TO REPORT YOUR STORM DAMAGE.
Every report helps ensure East Chicago’s damage is accurately documented and strengthens our ability to secure the resources our residents and community need.
Additionally, citizens in at-risk populations, Elderly, disabled, veterans, or under the poverty line should report their damage as 211 can refer their needs to qualified Charitable organizations for free services- i.e. tree and debris removal, basement flooding remediation and more. Those citizens are encouraged to call in or access the online tool at IN211.org
