SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 15, 2026, at about 1:59 a.m., Chino Hills deputies conducted a proactive patrol near Bird Farm Road and Country Club Drive, in Chino Hills. Deputies located four individuals wearing ski masks near two parked, running vehicles. The susepcts appeared to be committing a vehicle burglary.
Once deputies contacted the suspects, they all entered a grey Honda Civic without a license plate and fled southbound on Country Club Drive. A vehicle pursuit ensued, ending on Hwy 71 southbound, where it transitioned to Hwy 91 eastbound and concluded near 6th St/Corona.
The four individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies initiated a short foot chase and successfully detained all four suspects. Inside the suspect vehicle, deputies located stolen license plates and burglary tools. The vehicle initially believed to have been burglarized, was determined to be an unreported stolen vehicle from Chino Hills, left running at the original scene near Bird Farm Road and Country Club Drive, when the pursuit began. Deputies contacted the owner of the stolen vehicle, who confirmed no one had permission to take it. The suspects had just stolen the vehicle from the owner's residence within the past 15 minutes. Deputies booked three suspects into West Valley Detention Center, while the fourth, a minor, was released to his mother.
