Burn Ban has been Lifted - Open burning now permitted 
The Skagway Fire Department has lifted the burn ban due to a reduction in fire danger.
Open burning is now permitted, standard fire safety precautions still apply.
Campfires, bonfires, and debris burning are permitted, but must be attended at all times. Keep water or a fire extinguisher on hand and clear a safe area around any fire.
Fully extinguish all fires before leaving the site.
Conditions can change quickly – check current fire danger status before burning at sgyfire.org or calling Skagway Fire Dept. at 907-983-2450.
Report any unattended or out-of-control fires immediately by calling 911.
