UPDATE: Driver Who Intentionally Struck Three People Has Been Arrested for Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 15000 block of Fairbanks Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Juan Fragoso, 41-year-old Resident of Victorville
VICTIM(S): One adult male, one adult female, and one male juvenile

UPDATED ON AUGUST 18, 2026, AT 2:20 p.m.
On Sunday, August 16, 2026, deputies from Victorville Station Traffic Division identified Juan Fragoso as the suspect in the incident involving a Chevrolet Tahoe being driven toward several adults and juveniles in the 15000 block of Fairbanks Drive. An arrest warrant was issued for Fragoso for attempted murder, and a search warrant was obtained for his residence.
On Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 8:23 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station Traffic Division served the search warrant at a residence in the 14000 block of Tawney Ridge Lane. Fragoso was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident. Deputies also located the Chevrolet Tahoe believed to be involved in the incident and it was recovered as evidence.
Juan Fragoso was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for, P.C. 664/187 – Attempted Murder, P.C. 245(A)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, P.C. 273A(A) – Child Abuse Causing Great Bodily Injury or Death, P.C. 273D(A) – Child Abuse, and P.C. 207(A) – Kidnapping.

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, at approximately 7:03 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to a report of an assault involving a vehicle.
The investigation determined the driver of a green Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound on Fairbanks Drive at a high rate of speed while several adults and juveniles were in the residential street playing basketball. As the vehicle accelerated toward the group, individuals moved out of the roadway.
The driver continued past the group and struck an adult male with the vehicle. The driver then reversed and accelerated toward adults and juveniles who were standing in the driveway of a residence in the 15000 block of Fairbanks Drive, striking a juvenile victim and an adult female victim. The driver then accelerated in reverse, striking and pinning an adult male against a parked vehicle.
The driver then accelerated forward, swerved toward individuals who were attempting to flee, and left the area at a high rate of speed.
The investigation is ongoing. No suspect information is being released at this time. The victims were transported to a local hospital.
