Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive-Up and Go Food Distribution event:
Beginning at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, August 26, 2026
• 7th Avenue between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Clifton Ave.
• Stone St. between Crane St. and 7th Ave.
• Mt. Prospect Ave. between Victoria Ave. and 7th Ave.
.• Cutler St. between Crane St. and 7th Ave.
• Summer Ave. between Crane St. and 7th Ave.
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Stone St. and 7th Ave.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
