The Simi Valley Police Department is releasing video footage related to the officer-involved shooting that occurred on July 2, 2026, at Los Robles Hospital in accordance with California Assembly Bill 748 (AB 748) and applicable provisions of the California Public Records Act.
AB 748 requires the disclosure of certain video and audio recordings relating to critical incidents, including officer-involved shootings, subject to specific statutory exceptions and permitted redactions. Consistent with these requirements, the Department is releasing footage associated with this incident as part of its commitment to transparency and compliance with California law.
The video provides additional context regarding the circumstances leading up to and including the officer-involved shooting. Where necessary, portions of the footage have been redacted with blurring tools to protect privacy interests, confidential information, or the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
As previously reported, the incident remains under investigation. The Simi Valley Police Department continues to cooperate fully with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and is providing all information, evidence, and resources necessary to support a thorough, objective, and independent review.
