Prairie City Road will be closed between White Rock Road and Alder Creek from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday, August 24. Work is expected to be completed the week of September 1. The road will reopen each evening from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. and remain open on weekends.

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation and City of Folsom Public Works Department will remove and replace 4 inches of pavement across the full width of the roadway. This much-needed work is moving forward through a coordinated partnership as maintenance responsibilities for Prairie City Road are shared between the city and county.

Detours will be in place during closure hours. Motorists should plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and follow posted traffic signs. Thank you for your patience as this important work moves forward.
