On June 15, 2026, at approximately 5:39 pm, Central Marin Police received a call of a residential burglary that just occurred on Island Dr in San Anselmo, near the San Rafael border.  The victim confronted a male suspect inside his residence and a physical altercation ensued.  The victim was struck with a handgun (no shots were fired) and the suspect was seen fleeing on foot eastbound on Island Dr.  The victim received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.

On August 18, 2026, after a diligent investigation conducted by the Central Marin Police Authority (CMPA) Investigations Division with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service fugitive apprehension team, Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSRTF), the suspect in the above-mentioned crime was apprehended in Stockton, California. CMPA Detectives and PSRTF detectives surveilled the suspect’s residence for the past several weeks. On August 18, 2026, CMPA Detectives were successful in the apprehension of the suspect and the execution of a search warrant in collaboration with the Stockton Police Department.

The suspect was identified as Jasjot Singh Deol, 21-year-old male from Stockton, California. Deol was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on the following charges:

PC 368(b)(1) – Felony elder abuse.
PC 243(d) – Felony battery with serious Injury.
PC 212.5(a) – Felony first degree robbery.
PC 245(a)(2) – Felony assault with a firearm on person.

CMPA Investigations is thankful for the collaborative efforts by all of the law enforcement agencies involved in this case.  CMPA would especially like to thank the residents of San Anselmo and San Rafael that assisted our patrol officers and detectives by providing videos and images from their cameras that ultimately led to the identification and apprehension of this violent and dangerous person.
