| On July 1, 2026, patrol deputies from the Camarillo Police Station responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of Burnley Street. Detectives from the Camarillo Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation. Using various resources, including the Sheriff's Office Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system, detectives identified the suspect as (S) Manuel Espino. On August 19, 2026, detectives from the Camarillo Investigations Bureau and Special Enforcement Unit contacted Espino as he was driving in the city of Los Angeles. Espino was arrested and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of PC 182 - Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and VC 10851 - Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle. Espino was later released after posting $20,000 bail.
