Storm Lucy Restoration Update - City of East Chicago | August 20, 2026 – 9PM
Crews continue to work across the City of East Chicago and surrounding service areas. Restoration efforts remain focused on addressing the remaining outages caused by Storm Lucy, with field personnel working throughout the evening to repair damaged infrastructure, replace broken equipment, and safely restore service to impacted customers.
Current restoration activities include:
• Continued repair and replacement of damaged poles, wires, and other electric system components.
• Assessment and clearing of areas affected by fallen trees and storm debris.
• Coordination with municipal partners and emergency management officials to support restoration priorities and public safety needs.
• Deployment of additional resources to complete remaining outage work as quickly and safely as possible.
