Meridian Police Investigate Shooting
MERIDIAN, ID — Today, August 21, 2026, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Meridian Police officers responded to the 600 block of NW 15th Street for a report of shots fired.
Officers quickly secured the scene. This was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation revealed that Nathaniel CORDER and Philip THOMPSON were involved in a physical altercation that escalated when CORDER allegedly produced a firearm and shot THOMPSON.
CORDER was taken into custody at the scene and was later arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.
THOMPSON was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Following treatment, he was booked into the Ada County Jail on outstanding warrants, including a probation violation warrant and a fugitive warrant.
A third individual, Brittny ALLEN, was also at the residence but was not involved in the shooting. ALLEN was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor failure-to-appear warrant and transported to the Ada County Jail.
