Deputies Investigating Single Vehicle Traffic Collision that Killed the Driver

SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 22, 2026, at approximately 12:07 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department, along with personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to the area of Seventh Avenue and Lindero Street for a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed a white Dodge Ram, driven by a 23-year-old male, traveled north on Seventh Avenue in the number one lane. For reasons still under investigation, the Dodge crossed into the southbound lanes of Seventh Avenue, continued toward the western curb, and collided with a fence and block wall.
The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the collision.
Members of the Victorville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
Seventh Avenue, between Huerta Street and Lindero Street, remained closed for approximately three hours while deputies investigated the collision.
