Deputies Investigating Vehicle Theft Arrest Suspect After Pursuit Ends in Traffic Collision in Victorville

INCIDENT: V.C. 10851 – Grand Theft Auto, V.C. 2800.2(A) – Felony Evading, P.C. 496D(A) – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: 15000 Block of Roy Rogers Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Jorge Martinez, 48-year-old Resident of El Monte
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 23, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the 15000 block of Roy Rogers Drive regarding the theft of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.
At about 7:00 p.m., deputies located a vehicle matching the description in the area of Blue Canyon and Village Drive. Deputies initiated a traffic stop; however, the driver failed to yield, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended when the vehicle collided with a wall near Amethyst Road and Nordic Lane.
The driver, identified as Jorge Martinez, was taken into custody without further incident.
Jorge Martinez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for V.C. 2800.2(A) – Felony Evading, P.C. 496D(A) – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and several felony warrants.
