On 08/24/2026, at approximately 11:26 p.m., a Janesville Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 700Blk of Rockport for failure to stop at a stop sign. K9 Tango conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert. A handgun was located under the front passenger seat, where Jason Sun was sitting. The driver, Stevie Babilius, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for OWI 1st Offense. Jason was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Endangering Safety – dangerous weapon while intoxicated.
A search warrant was applied for and granted for Sun’s blood. The results are pending.
