On August 25, 2026, at 7:48 PM, Simi Valley Police Officers were dispatched to the 6400 Block of Keystone Street for a report of a weapon incident in progress.
The Victim advised SVPD Dispatch that a male subject had just pulled a firearm and pointed at him during a dispute. The victim stated that he was at the address to pick up a drone that the suspect had crashed and that during the pick-up an argument ensued in the suspect's driveway. The victim stated that as the argument escalated the suspect pulled what was described as a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim. The suspect then told the victim that if he didn't get off the property he would be shot.
Officers arrived and detained the suspect, later a 44-year-old male resident of Simi Valley. After an initial investigation, the suspect was placed under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and a Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO) was obtained. Per the GVRO, Officers were able to recover 4 rifles, 3 handguns and a large amount of ammunition. the Suspect was later booked at Ventura County Jail.
