Pomona Man Arrested on Numerous Charges After Setting Car on Fire and Breaking into Homes

LOCATION: 8200 block of Anaconda Avenue, Hesperia
SUSPECT: Denzel Thompson, 34 years old, resident of Pomona
VICTIM(S): Multiple victims
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 5:15 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a report of suspicious circumstances in the 8200 block of Anaconda Avenue in the unincorporated area of Hesperia.
Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle on fire. Multiple reporting parties reported an individual, later identified as Denzel Thomspson, had set the vehicle on fire and was attempting to break into nearby houses and vehicles.
Deputies located Thompson who resisted arrest and fled on foot. With the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation, deputies located Thompson and took him into custody.
Thomspon was transported to the High Desert Detention Center where he was booked on multiple charges.
The investigation determined Thomspon had broken into three residences, three vehicles and had stolen two vehicles. Both stolen vehicles were recovered, including the vehicle that had been set on fire.
