The City of Hoboken is under a National Weather Service Flash Flood Warning until 4:30 p.m., and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8 p.m. A NWS watch means severe weather is possible, while a NWS warning means severe weather is imminent.
Thunderstorms producing heavy rain, up to 1 to 2 inches an hour, are possible. Hoboken can experience flooding in low-lying, flood-prone areas if more than 0.8 inches of rain per hour falls.
Due to the forecast, tonight's last Southwest Resiliency Park Farmers Market has been cancelled.
Do not go around or move barricades
The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has placed barricades in flood prone intersections and will deploy them as needed. Do NOT go around or move barricades. Floodwaters can be deeper than they appear and can cause vehicles to stall, which can impact emergency response times.
Report clogged catch basins and/or power outages
Clogged catch basins can significantly impede drainage during heavy rainfall events and lead to more severe flooding. Residents should report clogged catch basins to the NHSA hotline at (866) 689-3970 for the quickest response.
