Please be advised that beginning this evening, Monday, August 31st, and continuing through approximately Friday, September 11th, 2026, Verizon will be conducting utility work at the intersection of Applegarth Road and Prospect Plains Road as part of the ongoing Middlesex County intersection improvement project.
IMPORTANT NIGHTTIME ROAD CLOSURE: Beginning this evening at approximately 8:00 PM, Applegarth Road will be CLOSED TO NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC between Prospect Plains Road and Rossmoor Drive. Motorists will NOT be permitted to travel northbound on Applegarth Road through the Prospect Plains Road intersection during the scheduled nighttime construction hours.
The utility work and associated northbound road closure will take place Monday through Friday nights, from approximately 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. No utility work or associated road closure is scheduled for weekends.
Motorists traveling in the area during construction hours should expect traffic delays, temporary traffic pattern changes, and detours. Drivers are strongly encouraged to plan alternate routes and avoid the area if possible, particularly when traveling northbound on Applegarth Road.
Motorists who must travel through the area should use caution, reduce their speed, and follow all posted detour signs and directions from traffic control personnel.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, operational needs, or other unforeseen circumstances.
