On August 29, 2026, at approximately 5:09 p.m., Santa Maria Police Department Gang Suppression Team detectives conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Central Avenue for vehicle equipment violations.
During the investigation, detectives developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, detectives located a Glock 17 handgun concealed between the driver’s seat and center console. The firearm was unregistered and had a loaded 31-round extended magazine containing 9mm ammunition.
The driver, 19-year-old Malachi Roslinda-Jordan, admitted the firearm was his. He was arrested and booked into jail. The passenger was released at the scene.
The San Maria Police Department remains committed to keeping our community safe by proactively identifying and removing illegally possessed firearms from our streets. We will continue working diligently to reduce gun violence and hold those who unlawfully possess firearms accountable.
