Fatal Hit and Run Accident in Escondido
ESCONDIDO – On Saturday, August 29th, at 10:22 PM, Escondido Police Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a traffic collision at the intersection of West El Norte Parkway and Escondido Boulevard.
The first officer on scene found a pedestrian in the roadway who was critically injured. Escondido Fire Paramedics responded and transported the pedestrian to Palomar Medical Center. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The pedestrian who was struck was a 65-year-old Escondido resident.
The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle involved.
