Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that drivers may experience delays at Exit 4 (Chester Avenue) of Route 21 South.
Beginning at 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Wednesday, September 2, 2026
• Chester Avenue, Exit 4 of Route 21 South (No Street Closures – Delays Only)
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes. Options include exiting at Exit 5 and traveling to Grafton Avenue, or exiting at 3rd Avenue and McCarter Highway.
