TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Today’s Heavy Rain Expected to Produce Flooding
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. reports that today’s heavy rain is expected to produce flooding. Drivers are asked to avoid traveling through flooded streets.
A slight chance of showers is expected before 2 p.m., followed by showers and thunderstorms until and after 5 p.m. Additional thunderstorms are expected before 11 p.m., with rain showers continuing to 2 a.m. tomorrow.
Drivers are asked to avoid the listed streets due to the potential of flooding.
The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding, and other weather-related incidents through the combined efforts of Police, Fire, and the Office of Emergency Management. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials.
