Power outages exist in Erie and Monroe Counties because of severe thunderstorms. Damage may prevent utility workers from being able to make repairs quickly and safely. During power outages, there are steps you can take to keep you, your family, and pets safe: 

• Do not use a gas stove or oven for heat. 
• Keep generators outside, away from windows.
• Keep refrigerators and freezers closed.  
• Disconnect appliances to prevent electrical surges.
