SUBJECT: Unauthorized Adult Arrested on Sequoia High School Campus
LOCATION: 1201 Brewster Avenue, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: September 2, 2026, Approximately 12:59 P.M.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 12:59 p.m., the Redwood City Police Department’s School Liaison Officer was notified of an unauthorized adult on the campus of Sequoia High School.
The officer located the individual and contacted 38-year-old Redwood City resident Adrian Garciaisaula. Garciaisaula was holding a metal file and became increasingly agitated and confrontational during the encounter. He refused repeated commands from the officer and continued to resist efforts to safely detain him. Due to Garciaisaula’s behavior and his possession of the metal object, the officer deployed a Taser and subsequently took him into custody.
Following his detention, officers determined Garciaisaula was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the following violations:
- Penal Code § 1203.2 – Probation Violation
- Penal Code § 148 – Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer
- Penal Code § 626.8 – Remaining on School Property/Disrupting School Activities
- Health and Safety Code § 11550 – Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
