INCIDENT: Victorville City Gang Impact Team Recovers Assault Rifle During Search Warrant

LOCATION: 16300 block of Larch Street, Hesperia 

SUSPECT(S): Froilan Ramirez, 43-years-old, Resident of Hesperia 
                        Jacob Ramirez, 21-years-old, Resident of Hesperia  

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, September 1, 2026, deputies assigned to Victorville Station’s Gang Impact Team (VCGIT) conducted an investigation related to the possession of illegal firearm magazines. The investigation led to the service of a search warrant at a residence in the 16300 block of Larch Street in Hesperia.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., with the assistance of deputies from the Hesperia Station, VCGIT safely served the search warrant. During the search, deputies recovered a 7.62-caliber Mini Draco pistol equipped with a large-capacity 30-round magazine. Based on its configuration, the firearm met the definition of an assault weapon under California law. Deputies also recovered an AR-15-style rifle that met the definition of an assault weapon under California law.

Through further investigation, deputies identified 43-year-old Froilan Ramirez, a resident of Hesperia, as the person in possession of the Mini Draco pistol. Froilan was later arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for violations of Penal Code section 33215, Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle, and Penal Code section 30505(a), Possession of an Assault Weapon.

The case will be forwarded to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of additional charges related to Jacob Ramirez, who was identified as the owner of the AR-15-style rifle.
