🏅 Pocatello Officers Receive Idaho Medal of Honor
On September 1, 2026, two Pocatello Police Officers were honored with the State of Idaho Law Enforcement, Firefighting and EMS Medal of Honor, recognizing extraordinary acts of valor and heroism.
👏 Sergeant Justin Buck was recognized for his courageous response to a man threatening to jump from the Benton Street overpass. Sergeant Buck placed himself in danger to reach the individual and help bring him safely to the ground.
👏 Corporal & K-9 Handler Francisco Torres was recognized for his heroic actions during a house fire. Without protective gear, Corporal Torres entered the smoke-filled, burning home and rescued an unconscious 81-year-old woman, directly saving her life.
We are incredibly proud to recognize the courage, compassion, and dedication demonstrated by both of these officers. Their actions exemplify the highest traditions of the Pocatello Police Department and Idaho law enforcement.
