Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive-Up and Go Food Distribution event:
Beginning at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, September 9, 2026
• 16th Ave. between S. 20th St. and 17th St.
• S. 19th St. between 17th Ave. and 15th Ave.
• S. 18th St. between 17th Ave. and 15th Ave.
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at 16th Ave. and S. 19th St.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
