Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who took an Apple laptop and iPad from a victim’s unlocked vehicle on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Surveillance video captured the suspect, a Black female, entering the vehicle and taking the computers at approximately 12:40 p.m. in the 500 block of 18th Avenue. Described as heavy-set, the suspect was wearing dark-colored pants, a grey tank top, white and black sneakers, and a red headscarf.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
