BEFORE LEAVING HOME
Things to consider:

• You are your own best protection.
• Lock all doors, including front/back gates and sheds. 
• If you live in a two-story home, keep first-floor windows locked.
• Ensure home cameras and security systems are properly functioning.

SCHOOL DROP-OFFS
Things to consider:

• Plan for delays and leave a little early.
• Avoid double parking.
• Refrain from loading or unloading children across the street from the school.
• Stay extra vigilant for children in school zones, near playgrounds and parks, and throughout residential neighborhoods.
• Never overtake a vehicle that has stopped for pedestrians.
• Always exercise utmost caution to prevent striking pedestrians, regardless of who has the right of way.
• Never attempt to pass a bus from behind.

The LASD Virtual Deputy Program lets you schedule a live video meeting with a real deputy sheriff to report specific non-emergency crimes or ask law enforcement questions from home. This system lets you schedule a future virtual meeting with a deputy sheriff to report specific crimes or ask law enforcement-related questions. It is not designed for incidents that necessitate an immediate response from law enforcement or for filing a public complaint.
 
This service aims to reduce wait times, improve the efficiency of services provided to the community we serve, and ensure law enforcement resources are available for priority and urgent calls for service.
 
The Virtual Deputy application is simple to use. When reporting a crime, you will be able to submit your contact information only if you have answered “No” to questions 2-9. This service is exclusively available to community members within the jurisdiction of Temple Station. After submitting your contact information, you will receive an email link to schedule the virtual deputy meeting.
