1,043 Vehicles Screened and 3 Drivers Arrested at Petaluma DUI Checkpoint
Petaluma, Calif. – On Friday, September 4, 2026, two drivers were arrested for DUI and a third was arrested for violation of a criminal protection order.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Petaluma Blvd North near Gossage Ave between 6 p.m. and midnight.
14 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1,043 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
