City offices and non-essential services will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 8, due to Hurricane Lowell.

Details 

The City and County of Honolulu will close all non-essential City offices, facilities, programs and services Tuesday, Sept. 8, as the strongest conditions from Hurricane Lowell are expected overnight. Essential emergency services will continue operating. TheBus, Skyline and TheHandi-Van will operate on normal schedules, conditions permitting. Residential refuse collection will continue as scheduled, with transfer stations and other refuse facilities open conditions permitting. Residents are urged to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel Tuesday morning while City crews assess conditions.

Call center: A non-emergency City call center will open at 7 p.m. today. Call 768-CITY (2489) for information about storm conditions, Hurricane Refuge Areas and City services. For emergencies, call 911.
