Deputy Seth Leopold with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old Brandon Lee Henry of Marion with felony Possession of a Controlled Substance on Jail Premises, misdemeanor Simple Assault and misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property. He received a secured bond of $25,000.
On August 26, Deputy Leopold responded to a call in Marion about a domestic disturbance. Henry was the suspect and had left the reported residence prior to Deputy Leopold’s arrival. A short time later, Henry was located by Deputy Leopold at a nearby residence on Sugar Hill Road. Henry had outstanding warrants against him and was placed under arrest for the warrants. He was charged with misdemeanors for the reported domestic violence incident.
Upon arrival to the McDowell County Detention Center, Henry was found to be in possession of marijuana and was issued the additional felony charge.
