Detective Billie Brown with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Keith Middleton, 36, of Forest City, NC, with felony Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Vehicle. He received a secured bond of $100,000.
On August 29, MCSO deputies responded to a residence in the West Marion area in reference to a shooting. The caller stated her boyfriend shot out her back windshield when she was pulling out of her driveway.
Upon arrival to the home, deputies spoke with Middleton and neighbors about the incident, then traveled to a nearby business where the victim had driven the car to work. Deputies observed the back window of the car had been shot out.
Further investigation by Det. Brown determined that Middleton was responsible for the crime.
