On September 7, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Fremont Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Stevenson Boulevard, just west of Marietta Drive.
The 60-year-old subject was apparently walking eastbound on Stevenson Boulevard near the center median when the driver collided with them. The left front portion of the driver’s vehicle collided with the subject.
First responders from Police, Fire, and paramedics responded to the scene and immediately began providing medical aid. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where medical personnel continued lifesaving efforts. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after. Their identity is being withheld pending the coroner’s notification of their family.
The Fremont Police Department Traffic Unit has assumed the investigation, which remains active. Preliminary investigation suggests that alcohol impairment was not suspected or a contributing factor to the collision. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with officers during the traffic collision investigation.
This is Fremont’s 8th fatal traffic collision for 2026.
