On September 7, 2026, at 5:05 p.m. Deputy U.B. Smith Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Black 2021 GMC truck with expired registration for speeding. Upon stopping the vehicle on US 41 near County Road 550 South Deputy Smith observed multiple clues that the driver 31-year-old Tyler Gash of Evansville was under the influence. At that point Deputy Smith began a roadside DUI investigation. Once the inquiry was completed Mr. Gash was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center where he was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.
Deputies Wes Baumgart and Aubrey McNeely assisted Deputy Smith in his investigation. Princeton Officer Logan Lashbrook also assisted in this investigation.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
